Maritime Administrator Mark Buzby has just announced the appointment of Jack Buono ’78 as Superintendent of the US Merchant Marine Academy. Admiral Buono, a Master Mariner (Unlimited), has enjoyed a distinguished maritime career, both at sea and ashore. He appears to be an ideal selection and a welcome change.
Between Admiral Buono and our new Dean/Provost, Dr. John Ballard, it looks like the Academy is finally back in good hands.
We wish him and the Academy fair winds and following seas as he undertakes this new command.
